Int’l Overdose Awareness Observance Day – Ward 6

This is an important day! The International observance of Overdose Awareness Day on August 31st. But this annual observance is so important that Wards 5 & 6 DC Prevention Center also recognized the importance of honoring our residential heroes with a networking event that took place on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 pm at the Westminster Church, 400 I Street SW, Washington, DC. 20024. Attendees learned the many local resources available to our DC community.

Both local and international observances honor the lives lost to overdose, support those who are grieving, promote prevention, and raise awareness about the impact of substance use in our communities. DC Recovery attended the DC Prevention Center’s event along with community members, stakeholders, and partners who share a commitment to prevention, recovery, and healing.
