DeWayne Barnes has been in long term recovery for over 44 years and has been a active member of DCRCA since it’s beginning. He has worked as a Certified Addiction Counselor in Maryland and Washington DC. He has also completed the Peer to Peer training at DCRCA and worked as a Recovery Coach.

Mr. Barnes has been involved in taking Recovery Support meetings to the DC Jail and the Correctional Treatment Facility on the grounds of DC General since 2013. He is committed to helping those in need of assistance with issues regarding substance abuse.
