4D National Night Out

Every year something fulfilling happens in communities across the country – an event called “National Night Out”. This unique event occurs annually on the first Tuesday in August. It is a special gathering to promote the partnership of the police community and its citizens to build a safer and more respected environment. This year in 2021, DC Recovery was honored when Derek Staten, the Fourth District Community Outreach Coordinator for the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), asked them to participate in this year’s National Night Out.

So on August 3rd from 4:00pm – 8:00pm DC Recovery joined the MPD at the Emery Heights Community Center located at 5701 Georgia Ave NW, Washington, DC 20011 in fellowship with the community and presented information to assist those with substance use disorders and related mental illnesses. What an evening! What an opportunity! What a blessing to be able to help those in need and have fun along the way.
