Varick Memorial Church – “Healthy Nutritional Values – Food For Thought”

The media focuses on the importance of making good nutritional choices when it comes to weight maintenance, but we cannot forget how important nutrition is to full-term recovery. Varick Memorial Church located at 255 Anacostia Avenue N.E.  got it right when they held their “Healthy Nutritional Values -Food For Thought” community conference on Friday, June 6, 2025. DC Recovery partnered with Voices of America attended the conference and presented community services and resources information to attendees. DC Recovery’s nutritional take-aways learned from the conference are in-line with their peer-supported programs and moving forward DC Recovery’s Community Outreach Coordinator, Brian Person and his team, will distribute the nutritional information to those they serve in the community.
