Bridging Resources In Communities (BRIC) – Walk 2025 (20th Anniversary!)

On Saturday, October 25th, 2025, members from DC Recovery’s outreach team participated in yet another event that increased mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) prevention and wellness, and fund-raised for the cause: The Prevention & Wellness 2025 Walk hosted by the Bridging Resources In Communities (BRIC) team. BRIC, led by President & CEO, Rosalind Parker, serves Ward 5 with their Drug-Free Coalition and Wards 7 & 8 with their D.C. Prevention Center. The team brought together the D.C. community at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy in Washington, D.C.. Also educating the community at Walk 2025 was DC Recovery’s Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, Demetrius Jones, who partnered with BRIC’s team to demonstrate how to timely use life-saving medications in the event of an overdose. Way to go Demetrius!
Well Done BRIC and the Baseball Academy for your partnership, Brian Person (DC Recovery’s Community Outreach Coordinator) for your outreach efforts, and Anna Jones (Community Bridges’ DC Community Liaison) for your continued support! It goes to show that…partnership pays off.
